Frequently Asked Questions About PTPTN Advances (WPP) for B40 IPTS Students

To those of you who are pursuing a diploma at IPTS and want to apply for WPP, here are some common questions that are often asked by IPTS diploma students about WPP, who is eligible to apply, how to apply, how to cash WPP, is WPP like giving zakat for pocket money before starting studies and while waiting for the PTPTN loan to be approved and so on. For your information, this is PTPTN's latest initiative that offers WPP to diploma students at IPTS. Usually, WPP is only offered to students in public universities and polytechnics only.

1. What is the meaning of the WPP offer initiative to B40 IPTS diploma students?

This initiative means that WPP is extended to B40 students who are pursuing full-time diploma studies at IPTS.

2. What is a Loan Advance (WPP)?

Loan Advance (WPP) is a loan advance of RM1,500 given to eligible students.

3. Who is eligible for this initiative?

Students must be Malaysian Citizens;

-Students must apply for WPP after submitting a loan application on the PTPTN Official Portal (www.ptptn.gov.my)

-Students must register for semester 1 at IPTS from February 2021 for full -time diploma studies only;

-Guardians of students/ students must be Recipients of People's Subsistence Assistance (BSHR); and

No PTPTN loan debt

4. How to apply for WPP?

Students need to apply at the PTPTN Official Portal (www.ptptn.gov.my) from 1 to 15 days before the month of student registration at IPTS (first group).

 5. What is the method of checking the status of WPP application?

Checks can be made on the PTPTN Official Portal (www.ptptn.gov.my) from 9 days of the month following the application. Alerts will also be made via email.

 6. What is the WPP fulfillment method?

WPP can be cashed by students at any Bank Islam counter by bringing the following documents:

WPP offer letter printed from the PTPTN Official Portal (www.ptptn.gov.my); and Student MyKad (Representatives are not allowed

 

7. When is the WPP fulfillment period?

WPP can be paid within two (2) months from the date of the WPP offer letter.

Example:

  1. Date of WPP Offer Letter: 09 February 2021.
  2. Period of WPP Offer Letter Fulfilled: From 09 Feb 2021 to 09 April 2021.

 

8. Is there any appeal for WPP if the guardian and student are not recipients of Bantuan Sara Hidup Rakyat (BSHR)?

No appeal will be considered.

9. Is WPP provided for free?

No. WPP is part of the loan given as an advance in preparation for students to enroll in IPT. A deduction of RM500.00 per semester from the PTPTN loan amount will be made automatically when the loan is approved. Can click WPP refund info.

10. What are the situations that do not allow students to complete WPP?

Situations that do not allow students to fulfill WPP are as follows:

  1. Students do not continue their studies at the IPT offered; and
  2. Students do not continue their studies in the program offered.

 If the WPP has been fulfilled, the student is required to repay the amount within eight (8) months from the date of expiry of the offer letter. Ta'widh of 1% per annum will be imposed on the outstanding balance from the 9th month from the expiry date of the offer letter.

11. What documents need to be attached if a student loses my MyKad?

The document that needs to be attached in case of loss of MyKad is a Temporary Identity Card issued by the National Registration Department (JPN).

 12. Can WPP be cashed if the printed offer letter is not complete with the information of Identity Card Number/ Warrant Number?

It can't be. Students are required to reprint the new WPP offer letter and ensure that the Identity Card Number/ Warrant Number information is complete.

 13. If the student's fingerprint fails to be scanned, can the WPP be cashed?

Yes, but students need to include other supporting documents such as a driving license, birth certificate, or offer letter to the IPT.

 14. Can WPP be transferred to a student's Bank Islam savings account?

Yes. Students are required to pay the WPP first and then fill in the deposit form to the savings account.
