The National Higher Education Fund Corporation (PTPTN) will be opening a helpdesk at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) to assist the Immigration Department when handling Malaysians blacklisted from travelling due to unsettled payments.
Its chief executive officer, Wan Ahmad Wan Yusoff said the proposed PTPTN counters at airports would help borrowers with scheduling payments so that they would not miss their flights. He said, “We will have a few more discussions to ensure that everything is in place. We hope to open the helpdesk soon to help the Immigration Department and PTPTN borrowers,”
It was reported that 707,304 individuals were barred from leaving the country and of this number, 264,000 names were on the PTPTN blacklist due to failure to repay their student loans.
