1. Yayasan Tenaga Nasional (YTN) Scholarship and Convertible Study Loan

Yayasan Tenaga Nasional offers a limited number of Convertible Study Loans for qualified Malaysians with good academic background. The Convertible Study Loan is offered to eligible students who intend to pursue their studies either at a public university or at Universiti Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN). These study loans may be converted into scholarships if the candidate graduates with top honours from his or her university of choice.


Bachelor's degree in :

  • Electrical Power Engineering
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Civil Engineering
  • Accountancy

Open season

The scholarship closes at the end of February each year.


  • Passed STPM with at least CGPA 3.50 or OR
  • Passed Pass Diploma / Matriculation / Foundation with at least CGPA 3.50
  • Must be no older than 23 years of age during year of application
  • No other sibling(s) are currently receiving scholarship from YTN

2. JPA PIDN and PDDN Scholarship Program


The JPA's Pengajian Ijazah Dalam Negeri (PIDN) and JPA's Pengajian Diploma Dalam Negeri (PDDN) Scholarships are sponsored by the Public Service Department to Malaysian citizens who are currently pursuing their Diploma and First Degree studies at selected IPTAs, Universiti Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN), Universiti Multimedia (MMU) and Universiti Teknologi Petronas (UTP).

Recipients of these JPA scholarships will be bonded to serve the government for a particular period depending on the courses and disciplines taken.


Criteria for Program Ijazah Dalam Negara (PIDN):

  • Malaysian citizens;
  • Not more than 25 years old on the date of application
  • Have a certificate of Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) / SPMV;
  • Obtain a minimum CGPA of 3.30 or equivalent in first degree semester examination;
  • Have completed at least one ( 1 ) semester of study or have a remaining duration of not less than one ( 1 ) year.

Criteria for Program Diploma Dalam Negara (PDDN):

  • Malaysian citizens;
  • Not more than 21 years old on the date of application
  • Have a certificate of Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) / SPMV;
  • Obtain a minimum CGPA of 3.30 or equivalent in diploma examination;
  • Have completed at least one ( 1 ) semester of study or have a remaining duration of not less than one ( 1 ) year.

3. Genting Malaysia GENM Scholarship Awards


The Genting Malaysia Scholarship Award (GENM Scholarship) provides eligible young Malaysians with the opportunity to further their studies locally or overseas. Financial assistance is offered for undergraduate studies to those who have excelled academically and are active leaders with their extra-curricular activities.

4. Bank Negara (Undergraduate) Scholarship Award

The Bank Negara Undergraduate Scholarship Awards are awarded to qualified individuals who are currently pursuing undergraduate studies at selected leading universities locally.

  • For candidates currently pursuing undergraduate - current CGPA of at least 3.50
  • Passed SPM with credits in Bahasa Melayu and English subjects

5. Yayasan Khazanah Watan Undergraduate Scholarship Programme


The Khazanah Watan Scholarship is a prestigious award that offers opportunities for talented and high-achieving Malaysians to pursue undergraduate and postgraduate studies at selected leading local universities.

Open season

The scholarship closes at the end of March each year.


  • Obtained a minimum of 3As and 1B for STPM or GCE A-Levels
  • Obtained a minimum CGPA of 3.50 / 4.00 for pre-university or foundation or matriculation programme
  • Not exceeding 21 years of age as at the enrolment date for the scholarship programme

6. Maybank Foundation Scholarship and Sponsorship Award

The scholarship is aimed for those who have an excellent academic standing. The scholarship is given in the form of full education financial assistance from pre-university/foundation studies up to degree level at local and overseas institution.

7. Yayasan Sime Darby (YSD) Pre-University Scholarship Programme

Yayasan Sime Darby provides sponsorship for Malaysian students to pursue foundation studies locally. Well-rounded Malaysian candidates who have attained excellent academic achievement are encouraged to apply.


  • Engineering- and Technology-related courses

The scholarship opens on 4 March 2016 and closes on 4 April 2016.


  • Malaysians
  • Aged 18 years old or below
  • Obtained at least 7 As (A+ and A only
  • Total monthly gross household income of RM10,000
  • Active participation in extra-curricular activities, sporting event and community service

8. PETRONAS Scholarship


Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP)Sponsorships are available for Malaysian students to pursue degree courses in engineering and Information Technology at Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP). Sponsorship will be given based on applicant's' outstanding SPM results.

Successful candidates are required to complete a 1-year foundation programme.

  • For first degree courses at top universities locally and overseas

10. Shell Malaysia Local Undergraduate Scholarship Award


This scholarship is open to students who will be undertaking and currently in a full-time first-degree course at any public universities and JPA-approved international universities based in Malaysia. Individuals with disabilities are also encouraged to apply for this scholarship program.


  • Engineering: Mechanical, Civil, Chemical, Petroleum, Electrical and Electronics
  • Sciences: Geology, Geosciences, Geomatics, Geoinformatics, Biostratigraphy,

The scholarship opens on 11 January 2016 and closes on 10 February 2016.


  • Minimum 3.0 CGPA or it’s equivalent at 1st degree studies level
  • Minimum 3.0 CGPA or it’s equivalent at pre-university level i.e. diploma/STPM/IB, or 2As and 1B for A-Levels /foundation


Applications may be submitted based on the latest semester results (for matriculation, diploma A-Levels, foundation, 1st degree students) or trial examination results (for STPM students).
