Students having already submitted their applications, have been left frustrated by no updates nor news from Bank Rakyat. Taking to social media to vent their dissatisfaction, one student went beyond and found out directly from Bank Rakyat what the issue was. Joanne Bong Shan Shan of Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) discovered that Bank Rakyat's online application system was only compatible with Mozilla Firefox. This may have created the unfortunate possibility of some applications made through other browsers such as Google Chrome or perhaps less likely, Internet Explorer, NOT being recorded by the bank's system.
Now, before you tear all your hair right off and proceed to sling your laptop into a wall, it is only a possibility. To find out if your application was recorded or not, please call Bank Rakyat's customer service line at 1-300-80-5454 from Monday to Friday (7.45am - 9.30pm) to confirm that your application did make it onto their database.
If your application was not recorded, again, don't worry. All you need to do is reapply, as there is no closing date as of yet. However, the bank's representatives urge any students to verify and if needed, reapply, as soon as possible. Follow these steps to reapply :
If however you find that your application was received, DO NOT reapply as this may create confusion and create duplicate copies of your application. For those of you with application that have been received, all you need to do is:
While you wait, why not have a look at the many discounts you will be entitled to when you do receive your KADS1M. (Hint : It includes discounts on some Razer gaming products, Foot massages, all sorts of food, Aeon, Mydin, Sunway Lagoon and more!)
