COURSE OVERVIEW

The Assistant Flying Instructor Rating (AFI) course is designed for trained pilots to become qualified flying instructors. This course consists of all the necessary training required to commercially teach and aid cadets in obtaining their flying licenses

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Detailed entry requirements

Fluent in the English language
Possess an existing and valid Commercial Pilot’s Licence with Instrument.
Completion of a Class I Airline Transport Pilot’s standard medical examination by a CAAM-approved medical practitioner
150 logged hours as Pilot-in-Command (PIC)

(Prospective candidates are advised to contact the CAAM for an updated list of medical practitioners- please refer to our FAQs).

Letter of Approval from the CAAM (obtained by submitting a communication of interest to the CAAM along with the necessary medical documentation, an existing and valid CPL/IR.
