MAHSA's English for Academic Purpose is designed for students who have basic proficiency in the English Language and for them to improve in their language competence from the Beginner Level to the Upper-Intermediate Level. The emphasis is on the four language skills of listening, speaking, reading, and writing. The course involves a twenty-two and a half hours weekly of intensive immersion into the English Language environment via demanding and interactive classroom activities. The learning tasks involve an oral presentation, project work, attending writing and speaking clubs, drama, and simulation. Students will be guided through the Beginner Level to the Upper Intermediate Level after which the IELTS Entry Level and IELTS Advanced Level courses will be offered to prepare them for the IELTS Examination. The main objective of the English for Academic Purpose Course is to nurture students to be competent in their listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills which would render them as effective communicators of the English Language.Study Duration:
Academic Requirements
Students who want to enroll into the levels will have to sit for The Oxford Online Placement Test (OOPT). This test will return results based on the Common European Framework Ratings (CEFR) that are comparable to other standardized tests like IELTS. The result of this test will determine their current levels of proficiency and the levels they will enter.
