Taking into account Malaysia’s pressing need to produce specialists in various medical
disciplines in order to promote advancements in medicine, the Kulliyyah of Medicine offers
Master in Orthopaedic Surgery. The programme is a clinical coursework programme in which
research is a component.
The programme is divided into 4 years aimed at allowing progressive mastery of knowledge,
skills and attitude, increasing responsibilities and independence.
a) The degree of Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS or MD) of the University or an equivalent medical qualification approved by the Senate; b) Qualifies for registration as a medical practitioner under the Medical Act 1971 (Act 50) of Malaysia; and c) At least three year of post-registration clinical experience certified by the relevant
Entrance tests
Submission of satisfactory test scores of an internationally recognized graduate test will be considered for those holding first degrees from institutions of higher learning that are not accredited by the Ministry of Higher Education. They may also have to sit an Aptitude Test if deemed necessary by the Kulliyyah Board of Postgraduate Studies
English Language Proficiency
Applicants are required to present a valid certificate for the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), International English Language Testing Service (IELTS) or the IIUM administered English Placement Test (EPT) with required minimum scores of 550 (TOEFL) and 6.0 (IELTS & EPT - individual bands).
