COURSE OVERVIEW

Diploma in Banking and Finance programme provides the students with the essentials of banking and financial knowledge. This 2 ½ years programme emphasises on nurturing students with the necessary knowledge to be able to contribute to the financial services field and managerial finance field. Technical principles and interpersonal skills are carefully tailored into the programme to fit the dynamic, technology-driven global banking and finance landscape.Students will be engaged with the fundamentals and specialisations in areas such as Corporate Finance, Financial Derivatives, Financial Statement Analysis, international Finance, Credit Management, Offshore Banking and Finance.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Detailed entry requirements

i. Pass Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) (or any equivalent qualification) with at least credits in 3 subjects including Mathematics and pass in English;

ii. Pass Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) (or any equivalent qualification), with a minimum of Grade C (GP 2.00) in any subject, and pass SPM (or any equivalent qualification) with credit in Mathematics and pass in English;

iii. Pass Sijil Tinggi Agama Malaysia (STAM) with a minimum grade of Maqbul and pass SPM ( or any equivalent qualification) with credit in Mathematics and pass in English;

iv. Pass Sijil Kemahiran Malaysia (SKM) Level 3 in a related field, and pass SPM ( or any equivalent qualification) with credit in Mathematics and pass in English;

v. Any Certificate in Finance, Banking, Insurance or related field (Level 3, MQF) with a minimum CGPA of 2.00 out of 4.00.

Note: The credit requirement for Mathematics and pass in English at SPM level for candidate in category (ii), (iii) and (iv) can be waived should the qualification contain Mathematics and English subjects with equivalent/higher achievement.

For Diploma level, international student are required to achieve a minimum score of 5.0 for International English Language Testing System (IELTA) or its equivalent.
