Business is, without a doubt—along with engineering, medicine and information technology—a long-standing demand in the industry today. Basic business skills are more or less expected from graduates looking for a job, regardless of which course they pursued in their degree, diploma or the like. Thus, pursuing your studies in business would not only be worthwhile but the skills you gain will be enduring.
While there are various institutions across Malaysia offering courses in business, Advance Tertiary College (ATC) is certainly distinctive in curating its business courses. Being known as one of the largest private law schools in this region with two campuses in Malaysia (Kuala Lumpur and Penang), it comes as no surprise that its Business School has also grown to produce quality graduates and ensuring their employability upon completion.
ATC offers a range of courses within their Business School that are contemporary and market-driven, including the Bachelor of Business Administration (Hons), Bachelor of Accountancy (Hons), and Diploma in Management programmes. In the bachelor’s degree, you will partake in modules that will expose you to areas of management, leadership, and entrepreneurship within the business profession. The diploma programme provides students with access to industry placement for internships as well as participation in entrepreneurship modelling workshops. Other diploma programmes offered within the Business School include the Diploma in Marketing and Diploma in Accounting.
Scholarships are also available for outstanding students. Scholarships offered to students who are interested in programmes under ATC’s Business School include ATC’s School of Business & Management Scholarship for Certificate in Business Studies, as well as the Tan Sri Othman Merican Scholarship for Certificate in Business Studies, Diploma in Marketing, and Diploma in Management.
ATC also offers the Certificate in Business Studies course, a four-semester programme that acts as a foundation in business education and allows you to either enter the business industry or continue your academic pathway towards a business diploma or degree at ATC, or at ATC’s partner universities. The certificate programme covers a range of skills and techniques required for the student to be employed as an apprentice or junior assistant. Approved by the National Accreditation Council as well as the Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia (MoHE), the Certificate in Business Studies course at ATC is also recognised for entry into the University of London, London School of Economics and Political Science, and other partner universities in the United Kingdom.
The main aim of ATC’s Business School is to prepare students with the development of knowledge and skills in the key business areas, subsequently providing students with access to industry placements and future management positions or professional careers within the business fields such as marketing, finance, entrepreneurship, management, or human resource management.
