When we think of university courses that align with the industry demands, we would probably list down the most common answers: medicine, engineering, and the like. But with the industry changing more quickly than we can keep up, the term ‘in-demand’ would apply to many new areas of study that were probably not as popular years ago. The latest trend of technology and advancement has paved the way for a lot of unconventional fields.
Situated in Iskandar, Johor, Raffles University offers relevant courses in demand, ranging from design and media to business and Psychology. Design was not the most desired area of study back in the day, but today with the advancement of technology, there are many fields within the design industry. This also goes for other unconventional but ever-growing fields such as business and accountancy, as well as supply chain management.
Raffles University offers four courses within the design field of study: Bachelor of Interior Design, Bachelor of Multimedia Design, Bachelor of Graphic Design, and Bachelor of Fashion Design. For their design courses, the general entry requirements upon enrolling within the Bachelor’s degree programmes include a minimum CGPA of 2.00 in their Diploma or Foundation certificate, at least 2 credits in their STPM or at least 2 Grade D in their A-Levels, or any other equivalent qualification that deem fit to the specific requirements of the programmes that may be considered. The MQA accredits all Raffles University undergraduate degree programmes.
There are also two diploma programmes within the Design field offered by Raffles University, which are Diploma in Interior Design and Diploma in Visual Communication, both of which provide students with the knowledge and skills required to become professionals within the graphic design industry. Foundation in Liberal Arts is available at Raffles University as a pre-u option before you advance to the Bachelor’s degree programmes, as well as opening students up to the depth and subtlety of human nature and experience.
Besides design, Raffles University also offers a Business Administration course as well as an Accountancy course for those who would be pursuing their undergraduate degree. The minimum requirements to enrol in these programmes include at least a pass or credit in Mathematics and English during STPM or any other equivalent qualifications. Foundation in Business Studies is also available at Raffles University as a pre-u option before you advance to the Bachelor’s degree. Raffles University also offers a Master of Business Studies programme for prospective postgraduate students.
On top of that, a Bachelor of Psychology course and a Bachelor of Supply Chain Management course are also offered at Raffles University. The entry requirements for the Bachelor of Psychology course include a minimum of Grade C in 2 subjects at STPM level; including a credit in Maths & Science and a pass in English subject at SPM level or other qualifications. For the Supply Chain Management course, students must at least achieve a Full Pass in 2 subjects at STPM level; pass in Maths and English subjects at SPM level or other equivalent qualifications.
