Heriot-Watt University Malaysia recently celebrated its third year as a branch campus in Malaysia.
A short ceremony marks the campus' long journey since 2012 with 140 staff members. The anniversary also signifies yet another important milestone for Heriot-Watt University Malaysia, with more than 1,000 students enrolled at its Putrajaya campus.
HWUM CEO and Provost Professor Robert Craik thanked staff members at the institution for contributing to the institution's growth in the past three years. He also remarked that the campus has achieved a great deal since the university won a bid at the invitation of the Ministry of Education to establish a university in Malaysia.
“By 2013, we had only about 20 staff members, and 100 students. To be able to say that we now have more than 1,000 students on campus is not only gratifying but also lends a considerable amount of confidence that we are heading in the right direction.”
