These are the government pre-university options that SPM leavers MUST know.
Asasi or foundations is a pre-university course offered by Malaysian public universities. The courses are available at UM, UIAM, UiTM, UPM, USIM, UPNM and UNIMAS.

AsasiPintar serves as a pathway for students to continue their tertiary education in UKM. The programme began with offering Science stream only, but today offers the option to enrol in the Social Science stream.

Form 6 or formally known as Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) is a pre-university programme that is taught in selected secondary schools around Malaysia. This programme is governed by Majlis Peperiksaan Malaysia (MPM)

Government Matriculation is pre-university programme offered by government schools. Compared with Form 6 (STPM) it is a fairly easy pre-university course. Ninety percent (90%) of Matrikulasi is allocated to bumiputera students, and 10% to non-bumiputera.
