You'll learn how to plan, design, market, operate and develop events, as well as how these events can be used to help local economies and communities. You'll also gain the essential skills required to establish, develop and manage your own successful business venture.
The course combines a sound knowledge of the dynamic field of international festival and event management with entrepreneurship, to add value to your career prospects. During the course, you'll develop practical event management skills as well as a broad range of management techniques that can be applied to other industries.
Specialising in entrepreneurship will also give you the creative and business skills you require to be your own boss. You'll gain transferable skills in research, academic writing, communication and interpersonal relations, presentation and time management.
This course has a number of compulsory and optional modules that feature throughout the duration of the course. Some of the optional modules include: Music Event Management and The Study of Food, Wine & Gastronomy.
Students will be eligible to apply if they have gained the required scores in the International Baccalaureate, GCE A-Levels, Foundation, Diploma and Polytechnic Diploma for entry to year one and two.
English Language Requirements
Students applying to an undergraduate programme are required to have achieved Malaysian Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) English Language 1119 Grade C or above (grades 1-6), even if previous studies are fully taught and examined in English.
