The SEGi Career Centre under the Student Affairs Division of SEGi University organised LinkedIn Networking, a workshop with final year students on the benefits of having a LinkedIn Profile.
Presented by Arif Khan, the Regional Account Director of Emerging Markets, LinkedIn Singapore, who demonstrated the steps and procedures of signing up for the LinkedIn account. He further explained that LinkedIn is now a new platform for young graduates to get themselves hired and connected to the world.
At the end of the workshop, Arif announced that the students were entitled to participate in a competition where the Best 3 LinkedIn profiles are to be chosen. The first prize winner shall win a mentoring session with a LinkedIn expert, a LinkedIn T-shirt and will also be featured in the Malaysia Newsletter. The second prize winner will win a T-shirt and notebook from LinkedIn while the third winner will win an honourable mention and a token of appreciation.
Students now are better prepared to venture into workplace with the tools of today to help them out.
