Resume

Everyone knows what a resume is. For those who don’t, a resume contains information on educational background, work experience, skills and contact information which are convincing enough to hire you as an employee. So, the resume produced must be complete with concise information but at the same time do not elongate it until the interviewer gets lost in it. Portfolio

If you have participated in any competition or projects, collect it in the form of a portfolio, especially if the product produced is interesting. Gather everything so that employers are impressed with your talents and abilities. Perhaps with this portfolio, your chance of being offered a job is higher than other candidates. For example, if you are an author, include links to articles that you have published. If you are a designer, include designs that you have done. Just make sure the work is impressive. No need to include too much, just a few to attract the attention of the interviewer. Quantity does not matter, quality comes first.

Job search account

The third step, you must register job search accounts on reputable job search sites. This must be done because the majority of employers now use job search sites to look for human resource. Employers will review your profile on all job search sites they register for the purpose of finding prospective employees. Once you’ve visited the website and signed up to open a job search account. Then apply for any suitable job according to your qualifications.

Potential employers

While waiting for the interview call, you can make a list of companies that would potentially call you to their interview. Take the time to do some research on the company, what business they are running, their business potential in the future and how you as an employee can help further develop the company. This preparation will be helpful if you’re called for an interview. The employer would want to see how much you know about the industry they are in and what will your future contributions be. So prepare neatly.

Networking

If you have friends who are already working do not be ashamed to ask them if there are any vacancies in their company. If you don’t initiate to ask, your friend might not even think to inform you about the opportunity. So this networking is very important because even if you have graduated, do not break bonds with your university friends. They will probably be able help you someday.

Skills

While waiting do not waste time, strengthen the skills you have in addition look for new skills that can be highlighted. Nowadays employers don’t really look at your academic qualifications on papers, what’s your pointers and so on. They give more importance to the skills you have. They are most concerned about if your skills are useful or not for them. So, learn various skills so that you can easily sell yourself. How to learn various skills? Google, YouTube, Social media and there are plenty of other options.

As a fresh graduate looking for your first job, have you ever come across a job advertisement that reads ‘fresh graduates welcomed’ followed by ‘minimum two years’ work experience’? You’re not alone. New graduates often struggle with the eternal dilemma about how they can get a job without any previous work experience or gain relevant experience without having a job in the first place. Good news is that today’s economic growth is largely driven by digitalization and sustainability and young executives are more than prepared for the future of work.
