UC San Diego cited the 10 Hottest Careers and this is the list:

1. Software developers for systems software
2. Physical Therapists and Assistants
3. Software Developers for applications
4. Market Research Analysts
5. Cost Estimators for construction
6. Database Administrators
7. Information Security Analyst
8. Computer Network Architects
9. Network and Computer Systems Administrators
10. Occupational Therapist

• The list also proved that there is an increasing national demand for college graduates with “hands on” skills in Computer related, Finance and Medical fields.
• The rankings were based on four categories: the number of current jobs in the fields; the 10-year projected growth from 2010 to 2020, the wage and the work environment which covers employee satisfaction.
• Other jobs that made it in the hot list include: Computer Systems Analyst, Personal Financial Advisors, Management Analysts, Computer and Information Systems Managers for healthcare and education and Medical and Health Service Managers.
