The first female High Court judge in the country was a Liverpool Law School graduate. Students have the opportunity to develop their professional skills through the activities of the School’s pro bono Law Clinic. The Clinic is operated by the Law School in association with members of the local legal community and enables students to enjoy the professional experience of dispensing legal advice to real clients, under the guidance and supervision of Law School staff and practising members of the profession. The Law School Mentoring Scheme allows students to build connections with the profession during their degree. Students are assigned to a local barrister or solicitor who will act as their mentor throughout their studies. The mentor will provide careers advice and assistance to their mentees on a personal and individual basis. This is in addition to the wider careers advisory programmes run by the Law School and the University Careers & Employability Service.Students are taught by internationally renowned and award-winning lecturers who are actively engaged in research. Students’ education will be cutting-edge, innovative and stimulating and closely engaged with the role of law in society.
