What to Bring to or Buy for University: Checklist

You may be moving to your university soon but are unsure of what to bring before your departure. Frantically trying to decide and find what things you need to bring to university can be stressful, so here we are to make sure the process goes easily and smoothly. Afterschool provides you with a university checklist covering most or if not all things that a university student would need in their academic career, but there might be a few extra things that could make your life a bit more fun and interesting there! Now, take a good look at our checklist and make sure that everything has been packed or bought before the start of the new leg of your life!

  • Driver’s License (You can apply for an international driver’s license in Malaysia)
  • Student Loan Correspondence or Scholarship Correspondence
  • Details of Accomodation and Contract
  • Insurance Card / Details
  • Insurance Documents (International students may be required to take out a health insurance)

  • Desktop Printer (You can use the printers in your institution but having your own comes in handy)

Just know that you don’t need everything on your list while you’re packing as you can’t bring everything with you especially if you’re flying to the new country, because you need to think about baggage weight as well. So, bring what you need, settle into your new dormitory and you can buy the things that have not been checked on your own or maybe you can go with your new fellow flatmates or university friends! But at the end of the day, it’s about making memories and making sure you’re settled in nicely and it feels a home-y to you!
