Representatives from Ramsay Healthcare College conducted a CPR demonstration with students of SMK Seksyen 9 Shah Alam.
Imagine a scenario where you are confronted with a stranger with lips tinged with blue and people panicking around you. Do you: A. Start panicking with the others, B. Call 999 and start panicking with the others or C. Perform CPR and save a life.
And with the presence of staff members from Ramsay Sime Darby Healthcare College, the students will return proudly with the knowledge of being able to save a life.
Students were divided into smaller groups where they were taught the basis; Danger, Response, Airway, Breathing and Circulation or DRABC for short.
Students were also taught how to perform the Heimlich Maneuver or commonly know as the abdominal thrust. This is resulted from cases of people suffering from obstruction of the throat or in layman's term, choking.
In the end, the session was a fruitful and informative session, for both parties.
Students of SMK Seksyen 9 Shah Alam are bestowed the knowledge save lives and not become bystanders while Ramsay Sime Darby Healthcare College had the opportunity to introduce the endless possibilities of venturing into the world of Medicine, Nursing and Health.
