Overseas architecture degrees not recognized

Starting 1 January 2017, recognition of architectural education institutions abroad will no longer be awarded automatically.

Works Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof said the validation process will be based on the Policies and Procedures Programme for Architecture Education Validation of overseas institutions developed by the Board of Architects Malaysia (LAM).

He said it is a comprehensive manual to guide the process of accreditation of architectural education to all higher education institutions.

"The Malaysian Board of Architects (Lembaga Arkitek Malaysia) will issue a new list of recognized educational institutions which offer architecture courses from that date onward," he said.
