  • New online system to lighten teachers' workload and make student and parent profiles accessible
  • APDM to be used for registration in public examination s and national service training

The Education Ministry has developed a new online system called Aplikasi Pangkalan Data Murid (APDM), which will ease school teachers’ workload and provide easy access to student and parent profiles from pre-school until Form Six/Matriculation level. APDM will be the main database to store integrated data of students that can be shared by various system developed by the ministry in the future.

With the introduction of the single database, teachers wouldn’t have to enter information into multiple data entry systems such as Sistem Analisis Peperiksaan Sekolah (SAPS) and Sistem Pengurusan Pentaksiran Berasaskan Sekolah (SPPBS), said Deputy Secretary-General (Education Operation Sector), Datuk Sufa'at Tumin. Pupils’ information is also used for official purposes, such as the registration for public examinations and national service training.

"The APDM would benefit 412,000 primary and secondary school teachers across the country who are using the PBS system," he said.  PBS system or school-based assessment involves 7,723 primary schools and 2,296 secondary schools.
