All STPM and matriculation leavers seeking admission into public universities are required to sit for the Malaysian University English Test (MUET). It is a test by the Malaysian Government serving as benchmark to measure Malaysian students proficiency in English.

Every year, it is held thrice in March, July and November, giving sufficient time for students to register and prepare. The results are often released within three weeks enabling students to proceed with their university application. However, this year, the situation is a lot more difficult due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The MUET exam according to schedule is supposed to be held early July, however, the MPM has released a statement on its official Facebook page stating that the MUET exam has been postponed to September 25.

Therefore, students who are supposed to receive the results just in time to fulfill admission requirements are distressed and anxious over this difficult predicament.

On the other hand, the UPUonline, a platform where students can apply to public universities is enabling students to update information including any additional result and documents from August 9 to August 12.
