Professor Deborah Hall, Vice-Provost for Research and Knowledge Exchange of University of Nottingham Malaysia Campus (UNMC) was the guest of honour. During her speech, she said to the graduands, “You have just received world class education from a leading college in Malaysia, go and do things that make you proud no matter what other people think so that you can truly be your own hero”.
The results of the CAL June 2018 examination saw improvements in almost all subjects and like the previous year, the passing rate was an impressive 100%. 32 students achieved 4A* while 46% of the graduands scored 3 to 4As.
MCKL’s home-grown programme, DECE, feted 20 graduating students with Ling En Yun receiving the Datuk Dr Chiam Heng Keng Award 2018 for best overall performance.
The CAT programme featured 21 graduands while the ACCA programme applauded 13 students who had successfully completed their professional papers. Arianna Yong Qiao-Ru clinched the ACCA Top in Malaysia and the World award for Paper FA1 and Ho Yee Khoon, the top in Malaysia award for Paper MA1.
The ceremony also saw Kok Hanz receiving the inaugural MCKL-UNMC Scholarship and Edmund Chee, the MCKL-HWUM Scholarship. Both scholarships cover full tuition fees and they are awarded to MCKL pre-university graduates with outstanding academic and co-curricular performance.
