24 gold, 4 silver, and 5 bronze medals reaped by Malaysia in the Asean Skills Competition Kuala Lumpur 2016.
The 6 day competition, which was held between September 23rd - 28th, had 25 categories including automobile technologies, mobile robotics, fashion technology, mechanical engineering, design, information technology, culinary art and service industry skills.
Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said it is vital for the nation and the region that technical and vocational education is in continuous development due to higher demand for skilled workforce.
Zahid is advocating for a strong education and training policies with a syllabus that matches national development priorities. He also noted that education and skills are critical to the agility of the workforce and a major factor of attractiveness for foreign investment opportunities.
