Jobs for people who hate to get stressed

Stress can be a friend and a foe. For some, stress can be the fuel that pushes them to think more and be on top of their game. But there are some of us who hate it and would do anything to avoid or at least lessen its adverse effects.

Although there is no such thing as a stress-free job, there are careers that are at least less stressful. Here are the top jobs that have lower or at least good stress levels.

1. University Professor / Lecturer- University lecturers earn about RM5,000 while full professors can go up as much as RM13,000+. Unlike primary and secondary school teachers, these professionals do not spoon feed students but act more as facilitators to the class discussion.  This profession doesn't require them to stay in campus all the time unless when they have classes.

2. Medical Records Technician - If you want to work inside a hospital without the drama and gore,  this job only requires you to record and ensure that a patient's health records are accurate, complete and confidential.

3. Jewelry Designer - Jobs that allow you to create and express yourself can be relaxing and liberating. Jewelry designers work privately mostly in workshops, behind jewelry stores or even in the comforts of their home. Happy clients and lovyal patrons, make the job more inspiring.

4. Medical Laboratory Technician - Employment of medical laboratory technologists is expected to grow by 11 percent between 2010 and 2020, about as fast as the average for all occupations.  In Malaysia, starting salary for fresh graduates can start as much as RM2,300. This type of job enables technicians to work productively in an environment that has less distractions.

5. Dietitian - Helping and seeing people improve their eating habits and lifestyle can be truly rewarding and this can be one reason why dietitians have the lowest stress level. Since most dietitians apply what they preach to inspire clients, this job is less likely to court stress. Starting salary for dietitian is at RM2,800.

6. Hairstylist - A hairstylist may earn the lowest salary in this list of less stressful jobs. Nevertheless, this is a job that does not require supervision after getting skill. Being able to call the shots can be one of the factors for a stress-free job. Moreover, satisfied clients can mean bonuses on top of the salary.

7. Software Engineer - They usually work in an office setting at a computer, but telecommuting options are becoming a more common perk. With the demand for web applications and the development of cloud computing, opportunities for software engineers are plentiful. Starting salary can be as much as RM3,500.

8. Fitness Instructor - It makes sense that careers that require exercise would be among the healthiest.These jobs offer positive interactions with others, creativity, and flexibility with your schedule. For every class, a fitness instructor can earn RM300.

9. Government employees - Federal, state, and city workers often have generous benefits packages compared to those in the private sector, including holidays off and ample vacation time. Compared with their private counterparts, government employees scored low in lifestyle diseases and chronic diseases. Healthcare schemes for government employees, in addition to pension, reflected in their better health standards.

10. Construction and building inspectors - They examine buildings, highways and streets, water systems, bridges and other infrastructures. This type of job puts them out of the office cubicle and requires them to be fit and healthy. Although some sites can be hazardous, inspectors wear hardhats and follow safety requirements while at construction site. Experienced inspectors can earn RM3,500 to RM5,000.
