IUKL is proud to announce that it is the first and only institute of higher education appointed as an Entrepreneur Transformation Centre (ETC) under the Mind Transformation Programme (PTM) initiated by the Ministry of Domestic Trade, Co-operatives and Consumerism (KPDNKK). Other institutions appointed as ETC include 33 polytechnics and 32 community colleges. As part of the initiative, a number of IUKL staff, who attended a 3-day training on basic entrepreneurship organised by KPDNKK on March 2017, have also been appointed as Development and Coordination officers for the ETC.
Such an initiative is in tandem with IUKL’s mission to produce technopreneurs for the nation, and concurrently in line with the HEI Entrepreneur Strategic Action Plan 2016-2020, which forms part of the implementation of Malaysia Education Blue Print 2015-2020 (Higher Education).
IUKL stands to benefit extensively from it's appointment as it authorises the university to conduct workshops and hold consultation, coaching and training sessions for its staff, students and alumni, all with the objective of moulding them into successful entrepreneurs. Additional benefits include the special concession provided for IUKL’s graduating students and alumni to apply for interest-free business loans up to RM 100K from the Ministry of Domestic Trade, Co-operatives and Consumerism. It is hoped that IUKL’s staff, students and alumni will capitalise on this exciting opportunity and become leading entrepreneurs of the nation in the future!
