Fake Degree Providers Need to Be Worried, Why?

Published by Afterschool.my on Feb 08, 2017, 09:36 am

Because the Higher Education Ministry promises to put a crack down on fake degree mills.

The issue of fake degrees continue to be a hot topic because of  its significant impact on the local market. People can easily get fake degrees from syndicates and compete at the same level with people who have worked hard to get real degrees.

So, the higher education ministry (MOHE) is going to fight tooth and nail to make sure the perpetrators and others involved are punished. This is also to ensure that the efforts of people who have worked hard don’t go to waste.

What is a fake degree?

Well, you know how you can go to a Mamak restaurant (very famous food here in Malaysia, for our international readers) and get a graduation certificate? You don’t know?!

It's because that doesn’t actually happen. But if it did, IT WOULD BE A FAKE CERTIFICATE!

If the Mamak restaurant was to give out certificates, then they would be punished for forgery and you would also face legal consequences.

Action against fake degree mills

The minister, Idris Jusoh, said “I am giving a strong warning that the ministry will not remain silent and will take firm action.

“We are discussing the measures to be taken as we do not want this kind of fraud to continue,” he told reporters after attending a signing ceremony between Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI) and Cambridge Malaysian Education and Development Trust (CMEDT) in Kuala Lumpur yesterday.

Fake degrees are a real issue here in Malaysia, it  even extends to getting a PhD certificate at a cheap price. A lot of people get tempted.

BUT: The ministry is working closely with the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) and the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) to gather more information on the syndicates.

So, if you’re thinking about doing such a thing, please stop it and focus on your education. There are no shortcuts in life, great things take effort to achieve.
