CIMB is committed towards nurturing the brightest minds in ASEAN by grooming the next generation of capable professionals through the CIMB ASEAN Scholarship.
In view of the evolving banking sector, many of our scholars today have pursued various fields, including computer science, data science and psychology, beyond the traditional banking subjects such as accounting, economics and finance. This means you too can be among our scholars who are making waves in the industry.
As a CIMB scholar, you will have access to a wide array of unique benefits and learning opportunities that will help you grow as a person and future CIMB professional. These benefits include:
1.Full scholarship coverage
The scholarship funding covers the entirety of your tuition fees or the remaining fees if you are currently enrolled. It also includes other academic fees and expenses such as registration, exam fees, living allowances, laptop and study books.
2.World-class education
Financial support is also given to scholars studying at top universities overseas, serving as a pathway towards world-class education. Studying at a prestigious international university is no longer just a wishful dream. Did we mention that your visa application fees and flight ticket will also be covered?
3.Career mentoring
You will have access to comprehensive career mentoring from CIMB’s supportive team of dedicated mentors throughout your time as a CIMB Scholar.
With decades of industry experience to draw upon, these mentors can provide insightful career advice and industry-specific tips that will satisfy any question you may have.
4.Career experience and opportunities
When scholars begin their internship and have the opportunity to enter into the management trainee programme with CIMB, they are exposed to many high-profile projects that enable scholars to gain hands-on experience and solidify what they have learnt throughout their course.
Programmes such as The Complete Banker™ serve as a great opportunity to gain a holistic overview of what it takes to run a successful banking project.
5.Guaranteed employment and global networking opportunities
Scholars are immediately offered a position at CIMB upon graduation, meaning you will get to jump right into the action and begin a promising career. You will also get to attend several CIMB regional events that will give you exposure to the unique CIMB ASEAN culture. This is also a great opportunity to network with esteemed colleagues from across the region and build rapport with senior peers.
CIMB is looking for scholars who are capable, intellectually curious and driven to achieve their goals. As leaders of the next generation, CIMB scholars are expected to possess the following qualities:
Citizens of Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam or the Philippines who meet the requirements are encouraged to apply. The scholarship is available to those who are about to start their undergraduate degree or Master’s programme, as well as those with at least one full academic year remaining.
To be eligible, applicants must meet a minimum CGPA requirement of 3.25/4.0 score (or equivalent), alongside a strong history of academic excellence and active engagement in extracurricular activities. They must also not be a recipient of any other scholarship that comes with contractual obligations such as a service bond.
The people and talent are the backbone of an organisation. That is why CIMB places great emphasis on ensuring our scholars’ smooth transition from graduation into employment. Our inclusive #TeamCIMB culture is built upon mutual respect which fosters a strong sense of belonging in employees and drives them to excel in their work. Upon graduating from your chosen programme, you are provided guaranteed employment via a service bond with CIMB Group.
Alongside talented peers and experienced seniors, you will be at the forefront of the ASEAN banking industry, solving critical issues and finding solutions to complex problems (such as sustainability and digitalisation concerns), whilst challenging established norms for a brighter future.
Apply now for the CIMB ASEAN Scholarship! The application period is open from now until 11 June 2023. Don’t miss this opportunity to be part of CIMB, while achieving your fullest potential. Click here to submit your application today.
