MELAKA STATE HIGHER EDUCATION LOAN

The Melaka State Education Trust Fund was established with the approval of MMKN No. 1/2000 which convened on 5 January 2000. This fund functions under the Melaka State Education Trust Fund Directive Financial Events Act 1957 (Amendment 1972) Section 10. Its chairman is the YAB Chief Minister of Melaka.

The fund combines two state agencies, namely Yayasan Melaka and Majlis Agama Islam Melaka. TAPEM functions to manage and administer aid funds or loans, including for children of Malacca who will continue their studies to the level of DIPLOMA and BACHELOR'S DEGREE as follows: (please click the blue link for more info on the loan and education assistance)

Starting 2019, the Melaka State Government through the Melaka State Education Trust Fund (TAPEM) invites Melaka children to apply for the Melaka State Government Islamic Studies Scholarship to further their studies in Islamic studies in Egypt, Jordan, Morocco and Indonesia.

These borrowers are offered to students who have been admitted to Public and Private Institutions of Higher Learning that are listed in the sponsorship of the Melaka State Education Trust Fund (TAPEM) only.

This financial aid is to help out those who have successfully entered university. For those furthering their diploma studies, they are entitled to receive RM300, meanwhile those who are furthering their degree, master and PhD are eligible to receive RM400.

The condition for the application is simple, which is to accept the offer of admission to the designated university/institution of higher learning be it public or private university. There is no further info regarding the repayment of loan; however if the loan is from the state government, it is safe to assume that there are no interest charges.
