On March 16th, the Movement Control Order was declared as a safety precaution against the COVID-19 pandemic, and everyone was affected. The people were questioning, how can the country’s economy survive during such a time? Fortunately, the answer came with the announcement of the PRIHATIN Rakyat Economic Stimulus Package.

The PRIHATIN package aims to help everyone in the country, including students. Therefore, students will be given a one-off RM200 starting from May 2020. This aid aims to help IPT students who are still in campus or nearby during the MCO period.

Moreover, National Higher Education Fund Corporation (PTPTN) have also announced a six-month deferment of PTPTN loans due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

But what exactly is the process of this distribution? Do students need to apply online? Unfortunately, the process has not been standardized or announced by the Ministry of Higher Education although it is expected that students do not need to apply for anything since the Higher Education Student Aid (BPPT) should already have the data from the RM100 cash aid.

However Afterschool.my will continue to update this article if any changes are announced in regards to their application process or application links.

Until then, we hope this article proves useful for your reference and we hope everyone continues to stay safe in these trying times.
