It is never easy to choose which university is the best for you. Which institution will enrich you academically but also help you grow as an individual and which institution will provide you with the education needed for your dream career yet provide meaningful experiences that will allow you to flourish.
It is a three-to four-year investment of money, time and emotional grind. Hence, it is all the more reason why you should study at a Top-ranking university or college in Malaysia.
Learning at a Top- reputable university or college in Malaysia provides a high standard of education which makes seeking employment much easier, whether locally or globally. A Top-ranking university can also provide outstanding student services and a diverse community of intellectual minds from different backgrounds who strive to be the best version of themselves.
A good place to start researching is checking the annual results of best-known university rankings like QS World University Rankings or SETARA, the government's rating system for Malaysian higher education institutions. These top university rankings help students choose the right study options by providing trusted performance data of universities, both locally and worldwide.
The methods of compiling this research data can vary from the use of specifically designed surveys for students and staff to fill out, to data submitted from the universities themselves and the use of comprehensive research databases like Elsevier’s Scopus. The main components that these rankings tend to cover are academic reputation, perception of employers, faculty/student ratio, international faculty and student ratio.
These ranking factors can help you identify and determine factors that are important to you. Are you someone who is looking for esteemed courses that will challenge and nourish you on an intellectual level? Do you want to learn from and be inspired by experienced professors who are leading experts in their field? Do you value being surrounded by coursemates and teachers from diverse cultural backgrounds?.
Once you figure all of this out, you can then begin to refine your research to ‘subject-specific’ university rankings, national university rankings or comparing university research rankings.
For those who are still unsure which university is the best, Monash University is one of the Top-ranked universities in Malaysia that satisfies all the components stated. They are ranked #64 out of more than 1500 universities listed in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2021. For subject rankings, the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2021 ranked Monash 2nd in the world for Pharmacy and Pharmacology studies, 15th for Civil and Structural Engineering, and 49th for Arts and Humanities.
They are also ranked #31 in Most International Universities In The World by Times Higher Education 2021. This is no surprise since Monash University, the first foreign institution to establish a campus in Malaysia, offers courses that are accredited in Malaysia and in Australia.
Thus, students from Malaysia and other parts of Asia will be able to receive a locally relevant, accessible, and more affordable education that is internationally recognised. They can also apply to study part of their degree at the Australian campuses or even go on a semester exchange to one of Monash’s 140 partner universities around the world with no additional tuition fees.
Monash University is no doubt as top-ranked university in Malaysia offering a global, prestigious, and accessible education to students from different backgrounds. If you are interested to know more about Monash University, their courses, study duration, fees, etc, CLICK HERE.
