With the American Degree Program, students may gain entry with just their SPM or equivalent qualifications without having to pursue foundation or Pre-U studies and may choose from a wide range of majors and minors under the SEGi American Degree Program ranging from Bachelor of Science in Communication Arts (minor in Promotion), Bachelor of Science in Communication Arts (minor in Psychology), Bachelor of Science in Psychology (minor in Communication Studies), Bachelor of Science in Psychology (minor in Global General Business) and Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (major in Global Business).

The Bachelor of Science in Communication Arts (minor in Promotion) will enable students to develop their abilities to analyse and interpret works of art and performances. The program also teaches students to communicate effectively and to work harmoniously in groups to establish goals. Graduates of the program may pursue careers in the sales, marketing and advertising industry.

The Bachelor of Science in Communication Arts (minor in Psychology) enables students to delve into topics such as public relations, organisational communication and media and will be taught how to produce effective marketing campaigns, political platforms or community relations events. Graduates of the program may choose to embark on a career in public speaking, journalism and public relations.

The Bachelor of Science in Psychology (minor in Communication Studies) equips students with communication skills related to employment, industry, or human services and a basic understanding of human mental processes and behaviours in daily interaction. Graduates of the program may obtain employment in mental health services, human resources, administrative support and education.

The Bachelor of Science in Psychology (minor in Global General Business) provides students with useful fundamentals in psychology and business administration. The program also develops student’s practical managerial skills, communication skills, business problem-solving and decision-making capabilities. Graduates of the program will have the skills to pursue careers in human resource, management, consumer research and administration.

The Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (major in Global Business) provides students with a firm foundation in the fundamental areas in business, finance, accounting, management and marketing. The program is designed to assist students to develop knowledge and skills to understand and cope with the challenges faced by business and organisational leaders in a dynamic and global workplace. Graduates of the program may choose to embark in successful careers in international business management, human resource management, marketing, finance and entrepreneurship.

Under the American Degree Program, students will experience the American education system where small class sizes are practiced. There may be as few as 10 to 20 students in a class, giving students the personal attention they need. Assessments are mainly coursework based, followed by examinations. The coursework usually consists of participation, term papers, projects, quizzes and presentations. Students will also have the opportunity to be taught by visiting Troy University Professors in Malaysia.

Troy University is an accredited member of the Council of Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and also the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools in the USA as well as the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs.

SEGi also offers the American Degree Transfer Program (ADTP). Under this program, students will have the flexibility to choose from either (3+1) or (2+2) transfer options. Students who opt for the (3+1) option may choose to pursue 3 years at SEGi University and a year overseas, while those who choose the (2+2) option will spend 2 years at SEGi University and 2 years overseas. Students may choose to continue their studies overseas in any of our list of universities such as SUNY Albany, Minnesota State University, Western Kentucky State University and many more. At Minnesota State University, students will only need to pay the in-state tuition fee, which is as low as US$8,000 per year.
