Are you preparing for university? Nervous about meeting new people? Wonder if university students are much harder to deal with as you step out of your high school comfort zone? Here are different types of students that you will encounter in most university classes.
In every class, there will always be someone who act like he or she know everything. They tend to act like that they are the only ones who know about a certain matter (whereas everybody else actually knows but did not bother to show off). In fact, it hurts their ego when others are trying to correct them.
The ‘know-it-all’ might know everything, but they definitely don’t know why other students roll their eyes behind their back.
Talking about dedication in university, the fashionistas are very dedicated to show up to class with trendy outfits. Many students find it hard to get up for an 8am class but this is never the case for the fashionistas. No matter how early the class is, they just seem to be able to get up early, dress up, put on full make up and show up on time. (P/s: Most of them seem to be international students)

Class time is show time.
They seem like they are never serious about their studies – coming late to class, dozing off during lecture, barely paying attention in class. And yet, when the results are out, they always stay at the top of the class. How do they score flying colours so effortlessly? It’s a mystery.
They often talk about the craziest party they went to last night, or the upcoming party they are invited to. No matter how late they get home the previous night, they would always make it to the morning class (sometimes with dark circles around their eyes). Being the life of the party, they often find others to be lame and boring.
Society? She is on the board. Competition? She represents the school. Sports club meeting? She shows up. Election campaign? She helps out. These people seem to be energetic all the time joining various societies and events. They often skip classes just to attend other activities in university. Are they majoring Event Management or what?
These people are always in the corner whispering during lecture. They would talk about every single person in the class, pass around their phones and show Instagram profiles to each other. They seem to have the way to know about the latest gossip on campus, no matter which faculty is involved.
The class clowns are always well-loved by the students in their classes (except when they were not funny but annoying). They spark joy when the lecture gets too boring. Their witty manners often give off an impression that they are never serious about their lives.
Is there a loner in your class? Oh well, you may need a few seconds to figure it out. The loners tend to keep a very low profile and go unnoticed in class. They attend all classes but they are usually very quiet and do not socialize much with the other classmates.
The Teacher’s Pet always goes an extra mile to impress the teacher (and annoy the students). They tend to be pretentious and love getting attention from their teachers. As good as their relationship with the teachers can be, they are often unwelcomed among their peers.
They are the busiest when the results are out. Why? Because they are busy gathering data of what other students have scored for the exams. They would PM their friends to know about their results but they themselves will never reveal their own CGPA. Seriously, take a break, result is not much of a big deal!
They are always late to class and most of the time they are not embarrassed to walk in in the middle of the lecture. I mean, 10 minutes late is excusable, but why would you come in 45 minutes later with pride? When they are being questioned, they would come up with all sorts of excuses that you could possibly think of.
You would not get to know him or her, because he or she hardly ever shows up to class. Hence, the unknown.
In any case, there is no one definition on how you should spend your university life. You do not have to try hard to be the cool kid or liked by everyone else. Just be yourself and that would be the best way for you to enjoy your university life. Have fun! (and don’t skip class!)
