There are fewer Aerospace Maintenance Engineers as compared to Mechanical Engineers in Malaysia so graduates in this field have more job opportunities with top employers.
For most graduates, once they get a job, there’s no turning back (unless, of course, they quit). An Aircraft Maintenance Engineer’s job is pretty flexible as they mostly work on a contract basis for a few weeks, months or years.
Those in the aviation industry usually prefer working under a contract agreement or per hour to earn more rather than doing a full-time job.

Important Note: Studying a course in Aircraft Maintenance is not equivalent to obtaining a license to pilot a plane. You will need a specific license for that. .
It is not necessary for you to do your postgraduate. You can work right after degree in Airline companies or aircraft servicing companies.
You will be in charge of ensuring that everything in an aircraft is maintained and kept in good condition for its next flight. As such, even the smallest of details is important, from one loose bolt or a stray wire
Your theoretical knowledge is vital, most of what you will learn and proceed to do will involve a practical, hands-on approach, right up till you start working. You need to be both good with the books and good with your hands.
As you will be working with an airline company, you will have to be prepared to travel. Sometimes planes require surviving at different hangars. Sometimes, one of the million components would malfunction. Either way, you need to be ready to adapt to just about anything!
