Overview

The Singapore Scholarship was launched by then Prime Minister of Singapore, Mr Goh Chok Tong, at the 6th ASEAN Summit in Hanoi in 1998. 

  • Citizen of an ASEAN country
  • Posses an excellent academic record
  • Have a good command of English
  • Candidates must also meet the entry requirements of the  university/universities they intend to apply to. 

Each year, its offered to a small group of students from ASEAN countries, for them to pursue a fulltime undergraduate degree in a wide variety of courses (except architecture, dentistry, law and medicine) in one of the following universities: 

  • Nanyang Technological University
  • National University of Singapore
  • Singapore Management University

 

The award is based on academic merit and open competition. The scholarship covers full tuition fees, and includes a living allowance of S$4,300 per academic year, an accommodation allowance, and one round-trip economy class air ticket passage to Singapore.
