The Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) is considering extending the deadline for students to collect their KADS1M to a later date, one of the big takeaways from a meeting between the Students’ Representative Council (SRC) and the officials of the MOHE.Intially reported on Twitter, the meeting was held in Putrajaya from 2.30 p.m to 5.00 p.m., and saw the likes of the Ministry’s Deputy Secretary-General (Management), Dato’ Kamel bin Mohamed, and a representative from Bank Rakyat, Khairil Datuk Hamzah, attend. The Bank Rakyat official did concede to many of the problems student have been complaining about for some time now, including no e-mail received, late e-mails, cards not ready even after the confirmatory e-mail was sent, and numerous other problems, all down to shortage of staff in handling the incredibly high demand faced. Technical issues with the system only served to further frustrate many already aggrieved students
Despite these shortcomings, Bank Rakyat should be commended for doing their best to address the issue. The meeting saw many talking points dealt with, on top of the already extended working hours of branches till 8.30pm especially for KADS1M matters. He also advised all students to continually check on their respective KADS1M statuses online.
Here's hoping that all students will receive what they deserve in due time, and a smoother journey between here and that point.
