About Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM)
Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia was established in 1993, formerly known as Pusat Latihan Staf Politeknik (PLSP). Focused on training competent polytechnics academic staff, the then training centre grew and continued to prosper achieving institute status in 1996, university college status in 2000 and finally a fully fledged university status in 2007.
UHTM consists of 7 faculties that explore subjects such as Civil and Environmental Engineering, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering, Technology Management, Business and Entrepreneurship, Educational in Technical and Vocational, Computer Science and Information Technology as well as Science, Technology and Human Development.
UTHM’s efforts towards excellence have paid off substantially with their wins at international competitions. Some of the awards they have won come from the British Invention Show and the International Invention, Innovation, and Technology Exhibition. Their interest in niche technology and training has led to a collaboration with Asia Pacific Flight Training (APFT).
