In 1995 a group of entrepreneurs founded IMPERIA to offer training and human resource development courses to the general public. About a year later, in October 1996, the Selangor State Education Department approved the institute to offer certificate courses under the name “Centre for Continuing Development and Further Education. Subsequently, the MOHE approved it to conduct diploma courses under the name “Institute for Continuing Development and Further Education” (ICDFE), which operated from a shop in Petaling Jaya Old Town.
The name IMPERIA Institute of Technology was taken up in December 2001. At the time, they also moved from PJ to Kelana Jaya and started to increase the programmes they offered. Besides their diploma programmes, they also started offering degrees and postgraduate programmes.
It offers diploma in construction management, estate management, quantity surveying, occupational safety and health, interior architecture and foundation in built environment.
