Minimum CGPA of 2.5 in Biology and Chemistry
A-levels :
Minimum Grade D in TWO of the following subjects:
UEC :
At least Grade B on 3 subjects inclusive of 1 Science subject
SAM/AUSMAT :
Tertiary Entrance Rank of 70 and Grade B in 2 of the relevant subjects
Canadian (CIMP/ICPU) :
Average of 70% in 6 of the relevant subjects
Foundation :
CGPA of 2.5 or above
Diploma :
Diploma recognised by the university’s senate
Degree :
A relevant first or second class Honours degree, or a degree qualification, or equivalent qualification recognised by the Malaysian Government, acceptable to the University
Degree in communications with min CGPA 2.5 or third class honours or equivalent
Master's :
A Master's Degree in relevant field and shows evidence of adequate related research or work experiences to satisfaction of Senate
A Master's Degree from other universities or equivalent qualification from an institution as approved by the Senate
Important Note: If you opt to study a Diploma in Biomedical Science and continue your degree at the same institution, you will most likely get a one-year exemption. This means that you can enter degree year 2 after diploma. .

Collecting samples and analysing data play a huge role in a Biomedical Scientist’s job. This is why being meticulous is vital so you properly inspect those tiny germs and create chemical solutions to treat illnesses.
You’ll need to be analytical as you’ll be doing a lot of laboratory and scientific tests on tissue samples and fluids. Besides that, you also need to evaluate the effectiveness of treatments before Pharmacists prescribe it to patients. Part of your job is to work on medical conditions such as cancer, AIDS, diabetes, screening for diseases, etc. at hospital departments so your analytical skills will come in handy.
