What you need to get on a Pharmacy course?

Diploma in Pharmacy

SPM : 3 credits in any subjects or other equivalent qualifications recognised by Government of Malaysia

O-Levels : 3 credits in any subjects or other equivalent qualifications recognised by Government of Malaysia

UEC : 4 As, including chemistry, mathematics and physics, or biology and grade B in 2 other academic subjects

Degree in Pharmacy

STPM : AAB+ in biology and chemistry, excluding Pengajian Am. 5 As, including biology, chemistry and mathematics and grade B3 in 3 other academic subjects, excluding Chinese language

A-levels : AAB in biology and chemistry, excluding general studies and thinking skills

UEC : 5A’s including chemistry, biology and mathematics, and grade B3 in 3 other academic subjects, excluding chinese language and moral studies

SAM/AUSMAT : ATAR 92, including biology, chemistry and mathematics

Canadian (CIMP/ICPU) : 92% average based on 6 subjects. Chemistry and Biology must be above 85%. (consideration to be made based on relevant subjects)

Foundation : Successful completion of the Foundation in Science programme, including all chemistry module

Matriculation : Please check with the relevant university

Diploma : Diploma recognised by the university’s senate

Master in Pharmacy

Master’s Degree (2-4 YEARS) : A relevant first or second class Honours degree, or a degree qualification, or equivalent qualification recognised by the Malaysian Government, acceptable to the University.

Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) : A Master's Degree in relevant field and shows evidence of adequate related research or work experiences to satisfaction of Senate A Master's Degree of other University or equivalence qualification from an Institution as approved by Senate

Pharmacy will involve a lot of small things! From the small size of tablets, you’ll dispense, to the size of the microorganisms you’ll view under a microscope during research portions, every spec counts!

Pharmacy will involve A LOT of reading. You need to be able to both memorise and understand subject matter very well, as you’ll need the information at the tips of your fingers, especially when the medications may just save a life!

Team Player

You’re a crucial part of the medical team, as it’s up to you to dispense the correct medication, and sometimes even determine whether a patient is in need of a certain medication or not. In other words, you’re presence is vital.
