Do you know who the Jabbawockeez are? Do you watch them, not just for entertainment, but to admire the choreography they’ve practiced for hundreds of hours to perfection? Do you know that the pirouette was originally a dance move, way before it was made famous by a certain French footballer? Finally, do you just love to dance, in any way, shape or form, so much so, that Black Swan was one of your favourite movies because of the ballet? Find out how you can express your emotions through

With so many degree options out there, here are some top reasons why you should study Dance:
Completing your studies in Dance enables you to pursue a career in different areas under the performing arts field such as choreographer, dance instructor, artist, therapist and many more.
Okay, this may seem a little cliche but dancing is a form of self- investment as it helps you connect with your mind, emotions and spirit, reduce stress and improve your mental well-being.
Besides stretching your body, hurting yourself along the way and growing new skin, a course in Dance teaches you to grow in other areas too, such as your passion to succeed in this competitive industry.
“Great dancers are not great because of their technique, they are great because of their passion.”
- Martha Graham

You have creativity flowing through your veins. While many other loved science or even math, you love any medium that allowed you to express yourself creatively, whether it was writing, singing, or dancing.
Dancing in your room when the only audience is your pet cat is easy. To make it as a dancer, whether your choreographing or participating, you’ll need to radiate confidence, which will translate to the people around you.
You have to be willing to put in hours on end practicing in front of a mirror, to perfect any routine you may want to perform. The dance community is a notably difficult scene to break into, and thus, nothing but 100% will do. You’ll need to shed blood (from the inevitable blister you’ll get on your feet) and tears (from when you miss a step at some point) to get to where you want to be.
