Medicine
Medicine, Health & Sciences
Hi Khairunnisa,
Unfortunately, the minimum entry requirements for you to pursue a medical degree (MBBS) in Malaysia are at least 5Bs in your SPM including the subjects Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics (or Additional Mathematics). If you have failed your SPM, you will need to retake your SPM with the subjects mentioned above.
On top of that, a medical degree also requires you to score at least a BBB / ABC / AAC in STPM or A-Levels with the subjects Biology, Chemistry, Physics or Mathematics. Alternatively, you must score a minimum of 3.0 CGPA in your Matriculation or Foundation in Science programme in Biology, Chemistry, Physics and/or Mathematics.
Good luck, and please do not hesitate to ask further questions if necessary.
Actuarial Science
Mathematics
Hi Cynthia,
There are a number of courses that focus on Mathematics other than Actuarial Science. Some of these include Business and Management courses, Accounting, Statistics, or even a purely Mathematics course.
Many universities in Malaysia offer these courses. You may click on the course names above to check out the requirements of each course.
Hi Fariz. Let's simplify the process for you:
1) Do you meet the minimum requirements?
Academically, you will need:
Physically, you will need:
2) Since you mentioned how to pay for flying school, we assume you will be looking for sponsorship programmes. You will have to apply for cadet pilot programmes here. These programmes are a rigorous selection programme held by different airlines. If you are successful, the airline in question will assist you in obtaining a loan from a bank to sponsor your course. You will begin to make repayments once you start flying for the airline. AirAsia, Malaysian Airlines and Singapore Airlines all have cadet pilot programmes that open at different times throughout the year. Each one has a different selection process, and it would be best to find out about each one prior to attending any of them.
3) Once successful, you will undergo training at the flying school chosen by the airline, pass your papers and finally be issued your flying license.

Psychologist
Hi Azmina. Generally speaking, you would need 5 credits (a grade of C or better) to go on to pursue the above fields. Only courses such as medicine & dentistry have set higher requirements.

Culinary Arts
Hi Uma,
If you've got an interest in Culinary Arts, then you can go for a diploma in Culinary Arts. However, you will need 3 credits to pursue the course, so I would suggest for you to work a little harder these coming months leading up to SPM to get those grades.
All the best!
