Hi Muhammad Zafri

Civil engineering is everything that is built around us such as roads, railways, bridges, buildings and etc. This course involves the design, construction and maintenance of the physically built environment. Subjects like physics, chemistry and mathematics are the core subjects required in Civil engineering. You will have to complete a pre university (foundation in science - 1 year) course first before taking your degree in civil engineering (4 years).

UTP and UTAR are some of the best universities offering a degree in Civil Engineering. University Teknologi Petronas(UTP) is a prestigious government linked university that offers this engineering course and places students for a 7 month long industrial training. Hi Foo Yoong,

The top engineering universities in Malaysia are UM, UKM, UPM, USM, UTM and UTP according to Times Higher Education and QS World University Rankings. If you want to limit it to only those in Kuala Lumpur, then there are not many choices to choose from. Institutions in Kuala Lumpur offering this course are UCSI, Herriot-Watt, TAR UC, UniKL, UM and Nottingham. The best among these is, of course, UM.

Hope this helps.
