Hi Pang,

This would depend on the university you intend to apply to. Let's have a look at a few examples:

UTAR: Grade of B in Biology, Chemistry, Physics/Mathematics

Asia Metropolitan University: Pass Matriculation / Pre-University / STPM programme or equivalent qualification with minimum GPA 2.33 in TWO of the following subjects:

  • Biology
  • Physics/Mathematics
  • Chemistry

Inti: minimum CGPA 2.33 in TWO of the following subjects - Biology, Physics/Mathematics, Chemistry

As such, if you do not obtain the minimum requirements, you will very likely NOT gain admission into that course, and it would be better to take a Diploma first. As with any course, please do contact the university beforehand to get confirmation of this. Hope this helps!

Hi Atikah,

The answer to your question is simply -: it depends. Different courses at UKM have different requirements. During UPU (which you will have to use), you will be able to check and see whether the course you want accepts a Diploma (as some courses DO accept it, and some DO NOT).

Hi Aya,

Occupational therapy actually falls under psychology, so you don't really have to choose between the two at the end of the day. This is because, in an Occupational Therapy degree, you would be learning elements of psychology in your modules. Of course you can always take a general degree in psychology and and then later pursue a Masters in Occupational Therapy, or even take a psychology degree and major in Occupational Therapy, but not many institutions offer this kind of flexibility. You can also take a psychology degree and choose to intern at an institution that practices occupational therapy to gain exposure into the industry.

If you are interested in a general psychology degree, IUMW and Raffles University Iskandar both offer these courses. Just fill in the bar on the right, and one of our counselors will get in touch with you.

Hope this helps!

Hi Aishah,

Fret not! You don't need to wait to pursue your Master's to get into the psychology field. If you get at least a CGPA of 2.00 in your diploma studies and have achieved a C in SPM level Math and Science, then you're eligible for the degree!

If you are interested, IUMW and Raffles University Iskandar both offera degree in psycholgy. Just fill in the bar on the right, and one of our counselors will get in touch with you.

Hi Farazahira,

Yes, you may! But it will depend on what Foundation in Science you took, because some cater to medical courses and come serve as a pre-university qualification for engineering courses.

Hi Divakaran,

Fret not, because you can still do a Bachelor of Medicine & Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) with your Health Science diploma, provided that you get a CGPA of at least 3.50, plus 2Bs in SPM level Chemistry and Biology, as well as 3 credits each in English & Mathematics/Add Maths & 1 other subject at SPM/O-level/equivalent.

We are more than happy to help you with your application for an MBBS degree. If you are interested, AIMST and MAHSA University both offer MBBS. You can apply by filling in the bar on the right, and one of our counselors will get in touch with you.

Hope this helps!

Hi Cindy,

MAHSA does not offer a part time undergraduate degree in physiotherapy. However, they do offer a part time Master's degree in physiotherapy. Which one would you like to know more about? Don't hesitate to send in another ask to clarify. If you are interested to enroll for the course, just fill in the bar on the right and one our counselors will get in touch with you.

Hope this helps!

Hi Nurulfaris,

A postgraduate degree may take between one to four years to finish on average. This may differ depending on the course you're taking, the institution offering it, and the mode of study. It may take longer if you are doing it part time, or shorter if you are doing online or distance learning. This is because most if not all postgraduate courses have flexible modes of study to cater to working adults, or those with financial issues. You should also know that a postgraduate qualification is not only limited to a postgraduate degree. You could always go for a postgraduate diploma or certificate too!

Hope this helps! :)
