Hi Naily,

Unfortunately it is not possible. You have to complete a Foundation in Science to pursue a degree in Psychology in Nottingham. Although their website mentioned that they accept any foundation, we contacted them to confirm and they said only those who have completed science stream are allowed to apply. However, there're 2 types of Psychology: clinical and non-clinical. The clinical one requires science while the non-clinical course does not require pure science subjects.

IUMW is one of the universities with this advantage. The requirement is to pass with a CGPA of 2.0. IUMW is a collaboration with University Malaya and University of Wales so you will be rewarded with 2 degrees. Please click here https://afterschool.my/international-university-of-malaya-wales if you want to know more about IUMW and would like to apply for the course, fill up your details at the application form on the right side of the page (blue box) and one of our counsellors will contact you shortly.

Looking forward to hearing from you soon! :)

Hi Aina,

There are 2 types of psychology fields: clinical and non-clinical. Non-clinical programmes are much more relaxed. They do not require you to be in a specific field to be eligible to enrol for a deg in psychology. So it doesn't matter which field you decide to venture in. You can opt for any pre-u programme such as Form 6, Foundation, A-Levels, ADTP, Diploma, etc. in any field and still be able to apply for a degree in psychology (non-clinical). If you've set your sights on non-clinical psychology, then its best to choose the arts stream as it will be easier for you to score. And if you want to study psychology specifically in pre-u, then you can opt for a diploma in psychology/counselling.

Clinical psychology programmes, on the other hand, are more stringent. They are part of an allied health science course and will require you to study Chemistry, Biology or Physics.

The difference between the two is their job scopes. Non-clinical psychology allows you to work as a counsellor in schools, kindergarten teacher, life coach, or in a HR department. A Clinical Psychologist is similar to doctors where they will work in hospitals, treat patients and prescribe medication

Hi Xin JIe,
The fees for the degree in accounting differs from one institution to another therefore you have to be specific as to which institutions you would like to enquire about in regards to pursuing your studies in that field. For example:
Curtin University, Malaysia
Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting): RM 67,200 for a full time 3 year course.
Infrastructure University Kuala Lumpur (IUKL)
Bachelor of Accountancy (Hons): RM 54,000 for a full time 3 and a half year course.
International University of Malaya-Wales (IUMW)
Bachelor of Accounting (Hons): RM 55,500 for a full time 3 year course.

Hope this helps!

Hi Farah,

You can browse through the scholarship list here and see which ones you are eligible to apply for: https://afterschool.my/scholarship If none of them are suitable for you, you can also apply for the university's internal scholarship once you get a placement there.

Good luck!
