- Beginning from this year, all research university status IPTAs which is University of Malaya (UM), Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) and Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) are given the autonomy to manage their own intakes.
