Mercy Malaysia to set up university by 2018January 04, 2017
Mercy Mission Malaysia, which already has an international school here, plans to set up it’s very own RM100 million university by 2018. Planned to accommodate up to 20,000 students, Mercy Mission Malaysia are working on the license necessary while the location is, as of yet, undisclosed.
The non-profit organisation will offer double degrees, such as Islamic Studies coupled with medicine, law or even architecture. Among the university’s students will be those from the organisation’s educational institutes such as AlKauthar which provides intensive Islamic seminars on 70 different topics on Islam to anyone aged 18 to 55, now garnering over 124,00 students from 36 countries per seminar.
The university’s students would also be taken from the organisation’s school Seven Skies International, located at Kota Damansara. SSI is premier quality international school providing a holistic curriculum for the comprehensive development of a child, with a 1:18 teacher to students ratio with activities based and involves experiential learning.
The university would be built from crowd funding which would start this year, and anyone who would like to donate could do so by visiting its website at mercymission.my. The syllabus of the university would follow the Malaysian Qualification standard and at the same time combine Islamic and secular studies.
