IPG accepts intake for UEC, SMA and SMU holders for PISMPMarch 23, 2016
The Ministry of Education (MOE) has agreed to continue the special intake of Unified Examination Certificate (UEC) and Sijil Menengah Agama (SMA) or Sijil Menengah Ugama (SMU) candidates for Program Ijazah Sarjana Muda Perguruan (PISMP).
The special PISMP intake is aimed to improve the teaching quality for Chinese language and Islamic education.
Education Minister Datuk Seri Mahdzir Khalid stated that the intake for UEC holders would be for specialisation in Chinese Language for Chinese national-type primary schools (SJKC), while those with SMU or SMA qualification would specialise in the teaching of Islamic education for national primary schools (SK).
The minimum academic requirement for UEC holders is to have at least three distinctions in their Senior Middle Level (UEC-SML) certificate.
Meanwhile, the SMA or SMU holders are required to have at least three distinctions in the examination.
