Hi there. I would like to know more about studying Pharmacy. There are rumors saying that there is no more empty seat for pharmacist in government hospital and the market of being pharmacist has already saturated. Is that true ? If I study AIMST University, do I stand a chance to compete with those who graduated from Monash BPharm, UCSI BPharm and IMU BPharm (HONS) to apply for work ? I really need answers and comments from the professionals or person who has the experience only. Please do not give me answers which I can get from the bazaar. If you feel free, kindly contact me via email. Thanks in advance. Have a nice day. | Afterschool.my

    Hi Chan,

While there will never be a time where there are no seats available, when the required mandatory service for pharmacists to be fully licensed in Malaysia was cut down from 4 (1 year as a Provisionally Registered Pharmacist +3 as a Fully Licensed Pharmacist under the goverment)years to 2 (1+1)years, it can be deduced that it was due to a saturation in the market.

Moving on to your second question, studying at AIMST will not be a hindrance when applying for a job. Many students worry about which university they go to and how it will rank against other universities. All that matters is how well you did, how good your results were and how you perform during an interview when applying for a job. So it has nothing to do with the university, and it is all up to you.

I hope this helps, and all the best.
